Pink House was born in 2013 by their aunt Tracy Olesen and their mother, Karen Sjoberg.
Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in the time of her recovery, she was filled with horror at the chemicals in the products she was using daily. This began a long and painful struggle to find all natural products in brands she once used to trust. Tracy was determined to help Karen find organic products, and in their disappointing search, they realized they may as well make them themselves.
Karen and Tracy spent hours of time together in the kitchen scheming up ingredients for each product. Each product was created by trial and error, and a whole lot of research. With a lot of prayer and determination, the products were carefully crafted, as they continued to flourish in creating.
A few years later, Karen was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer. After 8 months walking the long and wearisome journey that cancer is, she passed away on the first week of August 2015. With fire in Tracy’s heart to continue with their business, her passion to promote health within the beauty industry turned ablaze. With kindred hearts, Karen’s daughters Tegan & Lindsay jumped at the opportunity to join Pink House. In 2018, Tracy handed over the business to Tegan and Lindsay who now continue the legacy their Mother left behind.

BEHIND THE NAME
WHAT IS THE PINK HOUSE
It was our childhood home! Tegan and I (Lindsay) grew up in a pink house where our parents Marc and Karen raised us and our 3 other siblings. We spent a lot of our time visiting our grandma who lived downstairs where a lot of the pink in the house lived. She was obsessed with pink patterned floral wallpaper, curtains, carpets and couches. Even her Cadillac was pink.
One Summer our family took a vacation away and left grandma to choose the taupe paint for the outside of the house. Upon our arrival, the house was painted bright pink. We truly lived in a giant Pink house, straight out of a storybook.
WHY WE CHOSE THE NAME
An enriching time of all of our lives was held within the Pink House. The name came to our Mom and aunt Tracy as they were wanting to acknowledge their dear Mother who had passed years ago.
The significance of our business name has come full circle as Tegan & I have come to carry on the Pink House business. The story of the Pink House represents the timeless love and memories we have shared together as a family. From piano lessons, gardening, bread making, Sunday evening meals after church, to the hours of dancing together on the old wood floors.
WHY ARE NATURAL PRODUCTS IMPORTANT
Ingredients matter and you shouldn’t have to settle for anything less than full transparency. What we put on our skin can have long-lasting effects, so we take our ingredient lists seriously by avoiding anything that can be a health risk. On-top of that, we avoid any synthetic fillers, even if they might not be harmful, so you get the highest concentration of top-quality ingredients in every Pink House product.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NATURAL AND ORGANIC
The term "organic" on products can be misleading. We were surprised to find out that in order to have products meet the legal organic standard they only had to be made of 85% organic materials, and the other 15% are up to the discretion of the manufacturer. Often this 15% is filled with toxic preservatives, or "masking agents, fragrance (the heading "fragrance" on a label can include many mixtures of toxic dyes, colours, and odours, without ever knowing what the ingredient actually is)
If there is any possible adverse in any ingredient that we could potentially use, we just don't use it. If any ingredient could be linked to being a hormone disruptor, we just don't use it. If there is any controversy out there on an ingredient, we just don't use it.
For all of our products, we simply will never have any warnings, absolutely no red flags, you can even eat them! We want to be a trusted resource. Always.
